The Jazz Knob

The Jazz Knob is a salute to KNOB-FM, the world's first all-jazz radio station (1958-1966, located where we are, in Long Beach, California) and its founder Alex "Sleepy" Stein. We play music Sleepy played, or would be playing if the station were still around: bebop, swing, some trad -- Music by Musicians, not Electricians. We even use the original station IDs Sleepy had commissioned, performed by some of the top New York players of the time: Clark Terry, Zoot Sims, etc.
